The Ridge Line Pack is for when weight isn’t too much of a concern, but durability and weather-protection most certainly is.
It’s a minimal, top-loading design, cut and sewn from a single piece of fabric for enhanced water impermeability. The few seams that are present have been tape sealed, again, increasing weather protection. Fabric wise, it’s made from incredibly tough and tear-resistant Ballistic nylon ripstop, with a mix of deniers. The majority of the fabric measures 210, while the bottom panel is a thicker 420-denier for extra scuff-protection when the bag is on the ground.
There are also plenty of Hypalon ice axe/pole straps that stay flexible even when cold, allowing you to lash awkward equipment to the exterior.
